Description:
At 1124 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 9 miles west of Storla to near Plankinton to Aurora
Center, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Mesonet. At 1119 PM CDT, a 76 mph wind gust was reported by
a personal weather station 11 miles NNE of Platte, SD.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

Mitchell, Plankinton, Kimball, Platte, Alexandria, Corsica, Mount
Vernon, Emery, White Lake, Ethan, Stickney, Letcher, Carthage,
Artesian, Dimock, Fulton, New Holland, Harrison, Fedora, and Loomis.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for south
central and central South Dakota. A Tornado Watch also remains in
effect until 300 AM CDT for southeastern and east central South
Dakota.
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.
