At 1139 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Shelby to 8 miles east of Chamberlain to 11 miles east of Iona, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 1128 pm, a 62 mph wind gust was reported in Chamberlain. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Chamberlain, Kimball, Lake Francis Case, and Pukwana.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls.
