Southeastern Mellette County in south central South Dakota... * Until 1015 PM CDT. * At 924 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located 3 miles southeast of Haystack Butte, and over Mission, moving northeast at 15 MPH. HAZARD...60 MPH wind gusts and half dollar size hail. This storm has a history of producing hail to the size of golf balls. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Mission, Okreek, Wood, Mosher, Antelope, Butte Creek, Hidden Timber, Haystack Butte, and Rosebud Reservation. This includes portions of Highway 83 and Highway 18.
Instruction: 
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and excessive cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
