Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast South Dakota, including the
following counties, Codington, Deuel and Hamlin.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 105 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving
thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned
area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clear Lake, Estelline, Castlewood, Lake Poinsett, Hayti, Lake
Norden, Gary, Toronto, Astoria, Brandt, Claremont Colony,
Altamont, Bemis, Poinsett Colony, Dempster, Stone Bridge,
Moritz, Lake Cochrane Rec Area and Lake Albert.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
