* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of north central South Dakota, including the following county, McPherson. * WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads in Leola are closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 523 AM CDT, Sunday evening, local law enforcement had reported slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. At least 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Area residents are asked to avoid flooded areas until flood water drains off or is removed. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Leola, Grassland Colony, Long Lake Colony, Wetonka and Elm Lake. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
