Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of north central South Dakota, including the
following county, McPherson.
* WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
in Leola are closed due to flooding.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 523 AM CDT, Sunday evening, local law enforcement had
reported slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall
across the warned area. At least 3 and 5 inches of rain have
fallen. Area residents are asked to avoid flooded areas until
flood water drains off or is removed.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Leola, Grassland Colony, Long Lake Colony, Wetonka and Elm
Lake.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
