Description:
At 545 PM MDT, Doppler radar and the public indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain and flash flooding is occurring across the
warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen already.
There will be a short break in the rain around 6 PM, but additionally
heavy rain will occur later this evening.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
locations northeast and southeast of Cactus Flat.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Little Buffalo Creek, Fifteen Creek and the South Fork Bad River
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
