Description:
* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.
* WHERE...Walton, Bay, and South-facing Gulf County Beaches.
* WHEN...From late tonight through late Thursday night.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A prolonged period of high rip current risk
is expected Wednesday through this weekend. Despite the warm and
sunny weather, the surf will be dangerous for all levels of
swimmers, especially visitors.
Instruction:
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
