Description:
At 213 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near St. Marys to near Punxsutawney. Movement
was east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
St. Marys, DuBois, Clearfield, Ridgway, Johnsonburg, Sandy, Cameron,
Wharton, Woodland, Curwensville, Emporium, Penfield, Hyde,
Plymptonville, Rockton, Force, Benezette, Hicks Run, Jeffries, and
Lecontes Mills.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
central and north central Pennsylvania.
