Special Weather Statement
Urgency:
Expected
Effective:
April 11, 2026 - 3:59am
Expires:
April 11, 2026 - 4:00pm
Description:
The combination of drying fine fuels and leaf litter, low relative humidity of 25 to 35 percent and a moderately gusty northwest wind of 15 to 20 mph, will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread across the southern half of Pennsylvania today. Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly. For more information about wildfire danger and wildfire prevention and education, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources website at http://dcnr.pa.gov/Communities/Wildfire.
