...RED FLAG WARNING FOR FAR WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA TODAY INTO THIS
EVENING...
.Critical fire weather conditions are expected over far western
North Dakota today into this evening. Afternoon temperatures will
climb into the lower to mid 90s, while humidity values drop to
around 20 percent. This will combine with southeast winds around
25 mph gusting to 40 mph to result in critical fire weather
conditions. Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control.
The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 11 AM CDT /10 AM MDT/ this morning to 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/
this evening.
* WINDS...Southeast around 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent.
* AFFECTED AREA...Far western North Dakota.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.
