Description:
At 939 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Southern Pines, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail and heavy rainfall.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Localized flooding possible with heavy downpours.
Locations impacted include...
Southern Pines, Whispering Pines, Vass, Cameron, Olivia, Pineview,
Anderson Creek, and Timberlake.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
