Description:
At 1106 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Middleburgh, or 8 miles southeast of Cobleskill, moving northeast at
30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Schenectady, Clifton Park, Rotterdam, Scotia, Cobleskill, Glenville,
Niskayuna, Duanesburg, Berne, Altamont, Middleburgh, Schoharie,
Richmondville, Delanson, Breakabeen, Rotterdam Junction, East
Glenville, Burnt Hills, North Blenheim, and Country Knolls.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 88 between exits 20 and 25.
Interstate 90 between exits 25 and 26.
Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9.
Interstate 87 between exits 8A and 10.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead
to localized ponding of water and poor drainage flooding. Do not
drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
