Description:
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of central New Mexico, including the following
area, South Central Mountains.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM MDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are
possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Remnant abundant moisture will allow for another round of slow
moving thunderstorms capable of producing 1 inch or more per hour
to develop over or near the Ruidoso area and Seven Cabins burn
scars early this afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall will threaten
flash flooding on these recent burn scars. Secondary rounds of
showers and thunderstorms are expected to last into the late
evening hours.
