...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT SATURDAY FOR EAST CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO DUE TO GUSTY WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY... .On Saturday, west winds will strengthen with occasional gusts up to 40 mph east of the central mountain chain. In addition, humidity will fall as low as 8 to 15 percent, resulting in critical fire weather conditions. On Sunday, stronger winds will impact a larger portion of the area with continued dry conditions. * AREA AND TIMING...Rio Grande Valley-Sandia (Zone 106) and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124) from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest at 20 to 30 kts with higher gusts at times * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values of 10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
