Eastern Elko County in northeastern Nevada... * Until midnight PDT. * At 957 PM PDT, a dust channel was near Cherry Creek, moving north at 40 mph. HAZARD...Less than two miles visibility with strong wind in excess of 50 mph. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Hazardous travel. * Travelers on US-93, US-93 ALT, US-50, US-6, NV-233, NV-487 and I- 80 may encounter reduced visibility due to blowing dust caused by strong southerly winds. Please us caution if traveling this evening. Locations impacted include... West Wendover, Ely, Wells, McGill, Schellbourne, Preston, Cherry Creek, Ruby Lake, Jackpot, Great Basin National Park, Currie, Baker, Pequop Summit, Lages Junction, Ruby Valley, Ely Airport, Montello, Oasis, Shoshone, and Contact.

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake. Motorists should not drive into an area of blowing dust. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE! To report severe weather, contact the National Weather Service, or your nearest law enforcement agency, who will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in Elko Nevada.
