...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON...
.The combination of minimum relative humidity of 15 to 20 percent
with expected wind gusts approaching 45 MPH, will lead to critical
fire weather conditions in the eastern Panhandle and western
Sandhills this afternoon.
The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Red
Flag Warning for low relative humidity and gusty winds, which is
in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 204 Eastern
Panhandle/Crescent Lake NWR.
* TIMING...
* WINDS...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...15 to 20 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Up to 90.
* LIGHTNING...None expected.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that may develop have a high probability to
spread rapidly and be difficult to control.
