Big Nemaha River at Falls City affecting Richardson County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Nemaha River at Falls City. * WHEN...From this morning to Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 29.0 feet, The parking lots of businesses just south of Falls City in the floodplain begin to be impacted. In addition, overflow begins at the Highway 73 bridge at the gage site. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 26.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 27.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this morning, and reach 29.2 feet this afternoon. It will fall below flood stage late this afternoon to 15.9 feet tomorrow morning. It will then rise to 16.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall again and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 29.2 feet on 07/16/1968. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
