Description:
At 1135 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Aliceville to 6 miles northwest of Scooba to
Philadelphia. Movement was east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Strong thunderstorms will be near...
De Kalb, Scooba, Cooksville, Forestdale, and Bluff Springs around
1140 PM CDT.
Electric Mills around 1145 PM CDT.
Damascus around 1150 PM CDT.
Liberty around 1155 PM CDT.
Porterville and Blackwater around 1200 AM CDT.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
High winds can bring down trees and large limbs resulting in serious
injury or property damage. Exercise extreme caution when outdoors
during such strong winds...and be especially aware of older trees.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for east central
Mississippi.
