Southwest winds are on the increase across northern lower Michigan this afternoon, with gusts approaching 40 mph at times across northwest lower and gusts approaching 35 mph at times across the rest of the region. Meanwhile, a cluster of rain showers currently over central upper Michigan will traverse eastern upper and northern lower Michigan through the evening in conjunction with a frontal boundary passage. Stronger gusts of 35 to 45 mph may occur suddenly during the onset of a shower in any given area. Any of these stronger wind gusts may displace loose outdoor objects and may lead to small limbs being downed.
