...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Michigan... Sturgeon River near Chassell affecting Houghton and Baraga Counties. Sturgeon River near Alston affecting Houghton and Baraga Counties. East Branch Escanaba River at Gwinn affecting Marquette County. Paint River at Crystal Falls (Paint) affecting Iron County. Sturgeon River near Nahma Junction affecting Delta County. .Heavy rain will fall on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...East Branch Escanaba River at Gwinn. * WHEN...From late Saturday night to Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 7.9 feet, Water reaches the bottom girder of the M-35 bridge * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:50 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 5.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 4.9 feet this afternoon. It will then rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to 7.5 feet Saturday evening.
