Thornapple River Near Caledonia affecting Kent County. .1.5 To 2.5 inches of rain fell last night across much of Lower Michigan. This is in addition to the several inches of rain that have occurred in many spots previously. Additional showers and storms over the next 24 hours could add an additional 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain, making flooding worse. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Thornapple River near Caledonia. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Wednesday, April 22. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, High water begins to impact home on island below Cascade Dam. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 6.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 11.7 feet early Saturday morning.
