Grand River at Lansing affecting Ingham County. Grand River at Ionia affecting Ionia County. Red Cedar River At East Lansing affecting Ingham County. Maple River at Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County. Thornapple River Above Hastings affecting Barry County. Buck Creek at Grandville affecting Kent County. Pine River at Alma affecting Gratiot County. ...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Michigan... Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County. .1.5 To 2.5 inches of rain fell last night across much of Lower Michigan. This is in addition to the several inches of rain that have occurred in many spots previously. Additional showers and storms over the next 24 hours could add an additional 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain, making flooding worse. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Buck Creek at Grandville. * WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS...At 9.5 feet, Water spills into parking lots at Brookcrest Retirement Community. Widespread flooding of yards starts to occur on the lower parts of the creek. At 10.5 feet, Water begins to flow across Ivanrest Ave and Canal Ave. Many homes surrounded by water, and a few of the homes/buildings in the lowest parts of the river start to take on water, including at Mill Race Park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 9.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM EDT Wednesday was 9.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.1 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.0 feet on 02/22/1997. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
