Description: 
At 726 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Scottdale to near Lumberport. Movement was east at 55 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Mountain Lake Park, Oakland, Bayard, Bittinger, Grantsville, Loch Lynn Heights, Friendsville, Deer Park, Accident, Redhouse, Hutton, Gorman, Jennings, Crellin, Deep Creek Lake State Park, Swallow Falls State Park, McHenry, Big Run State Park, Piney Grove, and McComas Beach. This includes Interstate 68 in Maryland between mile markers 1 and 24.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify as the front pushes in from northwest WV, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for western Maryland...and eastern West Virginia.
