At 456 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Avondale, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Kenner, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Avondale, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Elmwood, Bridge City, River Ridge, Waggaman, Terrytown, Ama, Luling, and New Orleans Armstrong Airport. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 224 and 236. Interstate 610 near mile marker 1.
