Description: 
At 749 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas over Belle River, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts, winds in excess of 40 mph, and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Napoleonville, Paincourtville, and Belle Rose.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in New Orleans. If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
