Description:
At 536 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Mount
Herman to near Gillsburg. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Mccomb, Franklinton, Magnolia, Kentwood, Summit, Tylertown, Osyka,
Smithdale, Mount Herman, Wilmer, Gillsburg, Tangipahoa, and Mccomb
Airport.
This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 52 and 66.
Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 24.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for
southeastern Louisiana...and southern Mississippi.
