Description:
At 1111 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Camp Dix to Hilda to
near Mount Sterling. Movement was east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Grayson, Olive Hill, Grayson Lake State Park, Carter Caves State
Park, Princess, Coalton, Denton, Gesling, Oldtown, Naples, Rush,
Carter, Grahn, Hopewell, Brushart, Summit, Willard, Hitchins,
Warnock, and Soldier.
This includes Interstate 64 in Kentucky between mile markers 149 and
182.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
