Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall overnight continues
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Kansas, including the following
county, Jackson.
* WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 843 AM CDT, runoff will continue from heavy rainfall will
continue into the afternoon.Doppler radar and automated rain
gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Rainfall overnight of 3 to 5 inches will continue to cause
minor flooding do to runoff.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Whiting, Circleville, Netawaka and Soldier.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
