...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas...
Salt Creek At Barnard affecting Lincoln County.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of
record.
* WHERE...Salt Creek at Barnard.
* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Expect flooding of agricultural fields to
an extent of 3/4 of a mile coverage. Flood waters cover Highway
284 east of the creek bridge to around 260th Road, expect road
closure. Numerous roads along and near the Salt Creek flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 19.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early this morning to a crest of 24.0 feet this morning. It
will then fall below flood stage this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
Instruction:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
