At 919 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Oxford, or 13 miles east of Marengo, moving east at 65 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near... Cedar Rapids, Coralville, North Liberty, Solon, Tiffin, Ely, Swisher, Shueyville, Oakdale, and Lake Macbride State Park around 925 AM CDT. Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include Palisades-Kepler State Park, Newport, West Overlook, Morse, Coralville Lake Dam Complex, Mount Vernon, Lisbon and Sutliff. This includes the following highways... Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 222 and 253. Interstate 380 between mile markers 1 and 14.
