Description:
At 644 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Grant, or 15 miles northwest of Corning, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Penny size hail and heavy rainfall of one to two inches.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Ponding of
water on roadways, low visibilities, and rises in small
streams and creeks.
Locations impacted include...
Greenfield, Corning, Lake Icaria, Fontanelle, Orient, Massena,
Cumberland, Prescott, Bridgewater, Cromwell, Kent, Carbon, Nodaway
Park, Corning Municipal Airport, Lake Icaria State Park, and Green
Valley Lake State Park.
Instruction:
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
