Mississippi River at Gladstone LD18 affecting Des Moines and Henderson Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Burlington. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water affects low lying buildings and homes in Montrose and Niota. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 15.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM CDT Wednesday was 15.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 16.3 feet Wednesday, April 22. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
