At 929 PM CDT, At 853 PM radar estimated that 1 to 3 inches of rain fell across parts of northern Carroll County. Local law enforcement reported that part of Illinois 84 is closed between Savanna-Subula Bridge to the south entrance of the Mississippi Palisades State Park. The road is blocked with trees down, other debris and minor mudslides due to flash flooding. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Maquoketa, Mount Carroll, Savanna, Bellevue, Lanark, Preston, Shannon, Sabula, Wyoming, Miles, Andrew, Monmouth, Springbrook, Spragueville, Green Island, Fulton, Hurstville, Nashville, Canton and Van Buren.
