White River at Elliston. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... White River at Hazleton. White River at Petersburg. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. .Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the last couple of days has brought widespread minor lowland flooding along the middle and lower White River and will flow downstream to bring minor flooding to the Wabash River at Mount Carmel as well. The crest on the White is near Spencer, and on the lower White flooding is expected to last through at least next week. More rounds of rainfall going into and through the holiday weekend could make the flooding last even longer and bring higher crests for downriver points. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Edwardsport. * WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Water is at critical levels for makeshift levees. Most of bottomlands flood. Old Vincennes road and State Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by several feet. High water surrounds river cabins. This type of flood occurs on average about once a year. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM EDT Thursday /6:00 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 20.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 AM EDT Thursday /6:00 AM CDT Thursday/ was 20.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.3 feet this evening.
