White River at Hazleton. .Rainfall amounts of 0.75 to two inches this afternoon and overnight combined with two to nearly four inches over much of central and southern Indiana yesterday will bring minor flooding to portions of the East Fork White and middle to lower White River basins. Minor flooding developing on the lower Wabash is possible as well, but confidence is lower there. Locally higher amounts may cause rises that are higher than current crests indicate, and those with interests along area rivers should keep updated with the latest information as additional forecasts and warnings are issued. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Petersburg. * WHEN...From late tonight to Friday, May 29. * IMPACTS...At 21.3 feet, State Road 257 south of Washington began to flood during May 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on very wet soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals at 15.5 feet and rising. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 PM EDT Tuesday /11:30 AM CDT Tuesday/ the stage was 13.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 21.9 feet Saturday evening.
