Wabash River at Covington, Montezuma, Terre Haute, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton. .Lowland flooding will continue along the Wabash River in western Indiana this week. As of late Thursday evening the crest was between Hutsonville and Riverton. Flooding is expected to end at Lafayette and Covington by late Friday afternoon. Flooding downstream is currently predicted to end by Monday, but rainfall starting Sunday night could bring additional rises to area rivers next week. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Montezuma. * WHEN...Until early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Montezuma agricultural levee is overtopped. Fourteen hundred acres of low bottomlands flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 17.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 PM EDT Thursday was 18.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Saturday afternoon and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
