...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...Illinois...
Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
.Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall to start the week will bring
minor lowland river flooding to Mount Carmel on the Wabash River as
water routes downstream from the White River. More rounds of
rainfall going into and through the holiday weekend could make the
flooding last longer and bring a higher crest.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
* WHEN...From late Friday night to Friday, May 29.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All
oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on
substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural
losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher
ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year
round.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:45 AM EDT Thursday /10:45 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage
was 17.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Saturday morning to a crest of 20.4 feet early Monday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Friday, May
29.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
