This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Kaskaskia River at Vandalia. * WHEN...Until Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...At 27.1 feet, At this height about 75% of County Road 2000 between US 51 and the bridge over the Kaskaskia River is flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 26.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 6:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 26.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 26.8 feet this afternoon.
