River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River at Valley City. * WHEN...From Thursday morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, The road to Norbut Fish and Wildlife area is flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 13.7 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 13.4 feet this evening. It will then rise to 13.9 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall to 13.7 feet Wednesday evening. It will then rise above flood stage late Thursday morning to 14.5 feet Saturday evening. It will fall again but remain above flood stage. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
Instruction: 
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor this developing situation and issue follow up statements as conditions change.
