Des Plaines River near Des Plaines affecting Cook County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Des Plaines River from Palatine Road in Prospect Heights
downstream to Irving Park Road in Chicago, including the Des
Plaines gauge.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, Big Bend Road threatened in Des Plaines.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:45 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.3 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:45 AM CDT Saturday was 17.3 feet. The river has
been climbing due to rainfall yesterday evening.
- Forecast...The river is expected to crest near 18.0 feet
tomorrow.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
17.9 feet on 09/14/2019.
