Description:
* WHAT...For the Hazardous Seas Warning, very steep and hazardous
seas around 13 to 15 ft at 14 seconds and east winds 5 kt or
less. For the Small Craft Advisory, rough bar conditions
expected. Northwest winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 12 to 14 ft
subsiding to 8 ft Wednesday morning.
* WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar.
* WHEN...Hazardous Seas Warning, until 11 AM PDT this morning.
Small Craft Advisory, from 11 AM this morning to 11 PM PDT
this evening.
* IMPACTS...Very steep and hazardous seas could capsize or cause
damage to vessels.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ebb current of 4.57 kt at 149 AM Tuesday.
Seas 12 to 14 ft. Ebb current of 3.08 kt at 203 PM Tuesday. Seas
11 to 13 ft. Ebb current of 5.02 kt at 237 AM Wednesday. Seas 8
to 9 ft.
Instruction:
A Hazardous Seas Warning means hazardous sea conditions are
imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in
port, or take shelter until waves subside. Commercial vessels
should prepare for rough seas and consider remaining in port or
taking shelter in port until hazardous seas subside.
