Description:
At 1046 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Sharpsburg, or
near Newnan, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Newnan, Griffin, Fayetteville, Jonesboro, Peachtree City,
Riverdale, Hampton, Tyrone, Lovejoy, Senoia, Brooks, Sharpsburg,
Turin, Woolsey, Sunny Side, East Newnan, Starrs Mill, Inman,
Cannongate, and Jw Smith Reservoir.
Instruction:
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for north central
and west central Georgia.
