Description:
At 845 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Fussels Corner, or near Auburndale. This thunderstorm was nearly
stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Fussels Corner, Medulla,
Jan Phyl Village, Combee Settlement, Lake Alfred, Mulberry, Eagle
Lake, Polk City, Inwood, Highland City, Winter Haven Airport,
Gibsonia, Bartow Municipal Airport, Wahneta, Crystal Lake, and
Lakeland Highlands.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
