At 827 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Deltona, moving northeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Deltona, DeLand, New Smyrna Beach, Orange City, and Lake Helen.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Excessive cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Seek safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!
