At 724 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a funnel cloud over Big Corkscrew Island, or near Ave Maria, moving north at 5 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Funnel clouds occasionally touch down and produce tornadoes or waterspouts. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Ave Maria, Immokalee, Big Corkscrew Island, and Lake Trafford.
