* WHAT...A developing southward flowing longshore current and a Moderate risk of rip currents is expected. * WHERE...The beaches of Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie, and Martin counties. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...North winds 15 to 20 mph and gusty behind a cold front will produce a north to south current parallel to the coast. These currents can push swimmers into deeper water and possibly into rip currents.
Instruction: 
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
