- The ice jam 10 miles downriver from Russian Mission released
Wednesday evening, but a secondary ice jam was adjacent to
Holy Cross and extended about 6 miles downriver is still in
place Thursday evening. The Holy Cross runway is completely
submerged and numerous structures in the lower part of town
are surrounded with water being reported in several homes. At
Anvik and Grayling, water levels continued to rise on
Wednesday with low lying roads and a few structures being
inundated. When the Holy Cross ice jam releases, additional
rising water and flooding is likely at Russian Mission.
