Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by high water and heavy ice runs is
expected.
* WHERE...Alakanuk and Emmonak.
* WHEN...Until 100 AM AKDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 944 PM AKDT, The River Watch Team reports thick bank to
bank ice flowing steadily as of 7 PM from Mountain Village
downstream for approximately 30 miles. This ice could reach
coastal communities as early as Sunday night into Monday. The
high water has caused flooding in upstream areas in
conjunction with this ice run. Residents should take
precautions now and continue to monitor the situation
closely.
- For Yukon River at Emmonak:
At 8:00am Sunday the stage was 4.8 feet.
For Yukon River at Pilot Station:
At 7:45pm Sunday the stage was 33.5 feet.
