Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues.
* WHERE...Mountain Village.
* WHEN...Until 100 AM AKDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is expected or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1020 PM AKDT, the breakup front was located approximately
12 miles downriver of Mountain Village as of 7 PM Saturday.
It is moving slowly into the remaining in-place ice. Plenty
of high water is still pushing down the river from the jam
near Holy Cross a few days ago. As the surge of high water
moves downstream, it is causing flooding in several
communities along the Yukon.
- A local observer in Mountain Village reports the water rose
several feet on Saturday. Ice continues to run bank to bank
with the primary outlet on the south side of the Yukon. Until
the breakup front moves farther downstream Sunday, expect
continued slow rises and potential flooding of low-lying
areas.

At 9:45pm the stage was 32.6 feet.
