Wabash River at Covington, Montezuma, Terre Haute, Hutsonville
Legacy Power Plant Site, and Riverton.
.Lowland flooding will continue along the Wabash River this week.
The crest should reach the Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site by
Thursday afternoon, then Riverton Friday morning. Minor flooding
should end Friday at Lafayette, but continue until Monday evening
downriver at Hutsonville and Riverton.
Our next rain chances arrive Friday, but amounts should be under
three tenths of an inch. Dry weather follows that for the weekend,
then better rain chances return starting Sunday night. Rainfall
amounts next week could bring additional rises to area rivers.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute.
* WHEN...Until late Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton
Lake. Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between
U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills
about 75 percent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM EDT Wednesday /7:30 PM CDT Wednesday/ the stage
was 19.9 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM EDT Wednesday /7:30 PM CDT Wednesday/ was
20.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Saturday evening and continue falling and remain below
flood stage.
- Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
